BUSINESS LICENSES

Business License Application Process

 

1.  Read the Business License FAQ

 

License applications can be obtained from the City Collectors Office or you can download them:

2.  Return the completed application in person to the City Collector's Office or fax to 847.448.8122. Your application will be routed to the Departments reviewing your application.

 

3.  Contact the Building Division and the Fire Department to schedule inspections. The Building Division, Fire Department and Zoning Division must approve an application before a license will be issued.

 

To receive Building approval, the applicant must contact the Building Division at 847.866.2932, to schedule and complete Structural, Electrical and Mechanical/Plumbing inspections.

 

To receive Fire approval, the applicant must contact the Fire Department at 847.866.5935, to schedule and complete a Fire inspection.

 

Zoning will conduct a review of the application to ensure proper zone-use and does not need to be contacted by the applicant. If the applicant has any zone-use questions, the Zoning Division may be reached at 847.866.2930.

A BUSINESS CANNOT OPEN UNTIL IT HAS ACQUIRED THE PROPER LICENSING
