Facilities Management

The Facilities Management Division supports all City departments so staff can concentrate on delivering services and programs that benefit our citizens on a daily basis.

Facilities Management coordinates the physical aspects of the workplace (e.g., buildings, furniture, equipment) with the people and work processes. The division maintains 46 City-owned facilities (see list below) and provides thousands of hours of maintenance to keep them environmentally compatible and structurally sound for use by the public and City personnel.

The 14 tradesmen regularly perform over 3,000 scheduled or unscheduled work orders per year. Work crews handle
plumbing, electrical, boiler, air conditioning, carpentry, painting, concrete, and masonry and tile repairs.

Projects performed by outside contractors also require the support, coordination and oversight of our in-house staff in this division. Tasks include drafting specifications as well as conducting pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings and construction meetings.
